# Hiring Your First Employee

> Step-by-step guide to hiring an EOR employee through Omnivoo's hiring wizard.

Once your company setup is complete, you can hire employees through Omnivoo's EOR hiring wizard. This guide walks you through it.

## Before You Start

Make sure you have:

* Completed [company setup](/eor/company-setup).
* The candidate's name and email address.
* The annual gross salary you agreed, in rupees or in whichever of the nine billing currencies you agreed it in.

EOR hiring is available in India today. To engage people in other countries, use [contractors](/contractors/what-are-contractors) instead.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start the Hiring Wizard">
    From your **Home** dashboard, start hiring one of two ways:

    * Click the **Hire Employee** quick action, or
    * Click **Add people** and choose **India EOR employee**.

    The hiring wizard opens with four steps shown along the top: **Employee Info**, **Employment**, **Compensation**, and **Review**.

    <Info>
      If your company setup is not finished, Omnivoo first sends you to the company setup page to complete your registered address, signatory, billing, and agreements. See [Company Setup](/eor/company-setup).
    </Info>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Employee Info">
    Fill in the candidate's details:

    * **First name** and **Last name:** as they should appear on employment records.
    * **Email address:** where they receive their onboarding invitation.
    * **Job title:** their role in your organization.

    The wizard validates each field as you go. Click **Next Step** to continue.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Employment">
    Set the employment terms:

    * **Country:** the employment country. EOR hiring is India only today, so this is fixed to India.
    * **Start date:** when employment begins.
    * **Work hours per week:** defaults to 40.
    * **Notice period:** in days, defaults to 30.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Compensation">
    Enter the **annual gross salary**. As you type, the panel beside it prices the hire: the salary, the employer's provident fund, gratuity and EDLI, and what the employee takes home.

    A salary agreed in another currency is converted at a rate **fixed at hire**, and the employee is paid in rupees. Our own fee is quoted in dollars and appears on your invoice in your billing currency, so it is not part of the rupee cost to company.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review">
    The Review step (titled **Review & confirm**) summarizes everything:

    * Name, email, and job title.
    * Country and start date.
    * Work hours per week and notice period.
    * The annual salary, how employer contributions are quoted, the probation, and the total cost to company.

    Check the details, then click **Confirm hire**. Nothing is sent for signature yet. The offer letter goes out once the employee has finished the rest of onboarding.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What Happens Next

After you create the employee:

1. An EOR engagement is created for them.
2. The employee gets one welcome email right away, telling them they're hired and asking them to sign in and finish onboarding.
3. They complete [employee onboarding](/getting-started/employee-onboarding): statutory IDs, bank details, documents, policies and investment declaration. Signing the offer letter is the last step, so the letter carries the details they gave.
4. Omnivoo handles the Indian statutory registrations (PF, and ESI where applicable).

You can track each person's onboarding progress from **People** in the sidebar. See [People](/employer/employees).

## Hiring Multiple Employees

You can run the hiring wizard as many times as you need. Each employee gets their own compensation and their own onboarding flow.
