> ## Agent Instructions
> Omnivoo is an India-first Employer of Record (EOR) platform. EOR hiring is India only; contractors are supported in 220+ countries and territories.
> Never tell a user to log in with a password. Authentication is passwordless: email OTP, passkeys, Google, or SSO.
> Statutory figures (TDS slabs, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, gratuity) change by financial year. Always state the year the figure applies to.
> Never name a third-party payment provider as Omnivoo’s payment rail. Refer to "our payments partner".

# Logging In

> How to log in to Omnivoo with email OTP, a passkey, Google sign-in, and two-factor authentication.

This guide walks you through every step of logging in to Omnivoo, including email OTP, passkeys, Google OAuth, two-factor authentication, and what happens after you are authenticated.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter Your Email">
    1. Go to [app.omnivoo.com](https://app.omnivoo.com). The page reads **Sign in to Omnivoo**. Employers, employees and contractors all sign in here, and the same steps create an account if you are new.
    2. Enter your address in the **Email** field (the placeholder shows `you@company.com`).
    3. Click **Continue**.

    Omnivoo sends a one-time passcode (OTP) to your email. If your company uses single sign-on, you see your company's sign-in step first, see [Single sign-on](#single-sign-on) below.

    <Info>
      There are no email-domain restrictions: any valid email address on your account works, whether it is a company domain or a personal one. Omnivoo automatically detects whether you are an employer, an EOR employee, or a contractor from your account, so you never pick an account type when signing in.
    </Info>

    <Tip>
      Make sure you enter the email address associated with your Omnivoo account. If you are unsure which email to use, check with your employer or the person who invited you to Omnivoo.

      If you followed a sign-in link from an Omnivoo email that includes your address (for example `app.omnivoo.com/login?email=you@company.com`), Omnivoo pre-fills your email and sends the verification code automatically, so you can skip straight to entering the code.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the OTP">
    1. Check your email inbox for a message from Omnivoo. The subject starts with the code, for example "123456 is your Omnivoo login code", so you can often read it straight from the notification.
    2. Find the **6-digit code** in the email. **Open Gmail** and **Open Outlook** under the code boxes take you to your inbox.
    3. Enter the code on the verification screen. The boxes accept only digits (anything else is ignored) and accept a pasted code, and the form submits automatically once all six digits are filled. On most browsers and phones the code is offered above the keyboard, so you can fill it without switching apps.
    4. If it does not submit on its own, click **Verify and continue**.

    The OTP expires after **5 minutes**. The screen counts down with **Code expires in 4:59**. Each code allows 5 tries, and a wrong code tells you how many are left.

    Below the code boxes there is a **Keep me signed in on this device** checkbox, **ticked by default**. Leave it ticked on your own devices for a longer session; untick it on a shared or public computer. See [how long a session lasts](/account/session-management#how-long-a-session-lasts).

    <Info>
      Not seeing the email? Check your spam or junk folder. Omnivoo emails come from @omnivoo.com. Below the button, **Resend code** sends another one; it reads **Resend in 30s** until it is ready, so a code is never more than half a minute away. Requests are limited to 5 per email address within 10 minutes, so wait a few minutes if you have already tried several times.
    </Info>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Two-Factor Authentication (If Enabled)">
    If you have [two-factor authentication](/account/two-factor-auth) enabled on your account, you will see an additional verification screen after entering your OTP.

    1. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.).
    2. Find the Omnivoo entry and note the current 6-digit code.
    3. Enter the code on the 2FA verification screen.
    4. Click **Verify**.

    The login OTP and the authenticator code are separate steps. You enter the email OTP first, then the authenticator code.

    **If you do not have your authenticator app**

    Click **Lost your device? Use a recovery code** and enter one of your saved recovery codes. Each recovery code can only be used once.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Welcome Back

On a device you have signed in on before, the login page opens on **Welcome back** instead of the email field. It shows your name and email, and puts the way you signed in last time first, marked **Last used**.

To sign in as someone else, click **Not you?** or **Use another email**. Signing out from your avatar menu also makes the device forget you, so a shared computer does not show your email to the next person.

## Single Sign-On

If your company has set up single sign-on (for example Okta or Microsoft Entra), Omnivoo recognises your email when you click **Continue** and shows your company's sign-in step before sending any code.

| Your company's setting | What you see |
| - | - |
| **SSO required** | **Continue with** your company's provider. It is the only way in. |
| **SSO preferred** | **Continue with** your company's provider, and **Email me a code instead** below it. |

If single sign-on does not let you in, your company's admin manages who has access.

## Passkey Alternative

If you have added a passkey, you can sign in with Face ID, Touch ID, a fingerprint, or your device PIN instead of waiting for an email code.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Use the email field, or the button">
    Click into the **Email** field. If your browser has a passkey saved for Omnivoo it offers it in the same dropdown it uses for saved logins, and you never type your address.

    Otherwise click **Sign in with a passkey** below the "or" divider.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm with your device">
    Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint, or your device PIN.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You are signed in">
    Omnivoo takes you to the same place an email sign-in would.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A passkey sign-in does not ask for an authenticator code, even with two-factor authentication enabled, because the passkey already combines your device with the biometric or PIN that unlocks it.

<Info>
  You need a passkey before you can sign in with one, so a brand-new account always starts with an email code. After you sign in with an email code or Google, Omnivoo may ask **Sign in faster next time** and offer **Create a passkey**. It waits until you have finished the product tour, and **Not now** stops it asking. You can also add one from your profile any time, see [Passkeys](/account/passkeys).
</Info>

## Google Sign-In Alternative

Instead of email OTP, you can sign in with Google:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click the Google sign-in button">
    On the login page, click **Continue with Google**. (Google One Tap is turned off, so you always click the button yourself.)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select your Google account">
    Select your Google account from the popup.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize Omnivoo">
    Authorize Omnivoo if prompted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You are signed in">
    Omnivoo signs you in and takes you straight to your dashboard.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Google sign-in completes without a separate email code. It matches your Google account's email to your Omnivoo account, and both methods (email code and Google) work on the same account.

## After Login: Where You Land

There is no dashboard chooser on sign-in. Omnivoo sends you to your primary role's home:

| Your account | Where you land |
| - | - |
| **Employer** | Employer Home dashboard |
| **EOR employee** | Your employee Home |
| **Contractor** | Contractor Home |
| **More than one role** | The home of whichever role is your primary one |
| **No account type set yet** | The **How will you use Omnivoo?** welcome screen |

If you hold more than one role, switch between them at any time from the role switcher in your avatar menu. See [Switching Between Your Dashboards](/getting-started/choosing-your-dashboard).

If your session ended while you were on a specific page, Omnivoo remembers where you were and returns you there after you sign in again.

## Session Management

Once logged in, Omnivoo keeps your session active automatically: your access token is refreshed in the background before it expires. Three limits end a session.

| What ends the session | When it applies |
| - | - |
| **Browser idle logout** | 30 minutes with no activity while the Omnivoo tab is in the foreground. Always applies. |
| **Server idle limit** | 15 minutes with no contact with Omnivoo's servers. Applies only if you unticked **Keep me signed in on this device**. |
| **Maximum session length** | 7 days if that box was ticked, 12 hours if not. Counted from login and never extended. |

A passkey sign-in has no **Keep me signed in** checkbox, and is always treated as a trusted device: 7-day maximum, and the 15-minute server idle limit does not apply.

For the full details, including the Active Sessions list and how to sign out other devices, see [Session & Security](/account/session-management).

### Why you were signed out

When a session ends, the login screen tells you why rather than just asking you to sign in again:

| Message | What happened |
| - | - |
| "You were signed out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Sign in to pick up where you left off." | The idle limit. |
| "Your session expired. Sign in to continue." | The session hit its maximum length. |
| "This session was signed out. Sign in again to continue." | Someone revoked it, for example with **Logout from all devices**. |
| "Your account access has been suspended. Contact [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com)." | Your account is blocked. |
| "We had trouble reaching Omnivoo and signed you out to be safe. Nothing is wrong with your account, please sign in again." | We could not reach our servers, so we signed you out rather than leaving you in an unknown state. |

The message shows once. It is gone if you reload the login page.

## Troubleshooting

**I am not receiving the OTP email.**

* Check your spam/junk folder.
* Verify you are entering the correct email address.
* Wait 1-2 minutes, email delivery can sometimes be delayed.
* Click **Resend code** next to the expiry countdown. It waits 30 seconds between codes.
* If you asked for too many codes, the page tells you the time you can ask again. Until then you can still sign in with Google or a passkey.

**My OTP code is not working.**

* Make sure you are entering the most recent code (only the latest OTP is valid).
* Check that the code has not expired. The screen says **This code has expired** once it has.
* After 5 wrong tries a code stops working. Click **Resend code** for a new one.
* Ensure there are no extra spaces when pasting the code.

**My authenticator code is not accepted.**

* Verify your phone's clock is set to automatic/network time. TOTP codes are time-sensitive.
* Make sure you are reading the code for Omnivoo, not another service.

**Nothing happened when I clicked "Sign in with a passkey".**

* The device most likely has no passkey saved for Omnivoo. Sign in with your email code, then add one from your profile.
* Your browser deliberately does not tell websites whether a passkey exists, so this looks identical to dismissing the prompt.

**I am stuck on a blank screen after login.**

* Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then log in again.
* If the issue persists, contact [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com).

**My account access has been suspended.**

* If you see the message "Your account access has been suspended. Please contact [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com).", reach out to [contact@omnivoo.com](mailto:contact@omnivoo.com) to get it resolved.
